A Marketing and communications Manager with Hilton Hotels & Resorts will develop and implement the marketing plan and activities for the hotel to increase brand awareness, communicate promotions to all relevant target markets and address hotel business needs.

What will I be doing?

As Marketing and communications Manager, you will develop and implement the marketing plan and activities for the hotel to increase brand awareness, communicate promotions to all relevant target markets and address hotel business needs. Specifically, a Marketing Manager will perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • To manage and direct all paid advertising, delivering a cost effective and appropriate annual advertising strategy within the agreed budget.
  • To manage all on-line activities for the hotel (including all Hicom and F&B outlet micro-sites), also non-branded websites, ensuring all special promotions are loaded and available with the appropriate lead-in times and that all information is kept accurate and up to date.
  • Ensure monthly checks are carried out on top 50 external booking websites ensuring that all content is accurate, up to date and highlights the unique selling points of the hotel and current promotions.
  • Develop an annual Marketing & PR Plan in conjunction with the Sales/Revenue depts, ensuring that the Plan reflects the strategy needed to achieve targeted results in all revenue streams.
  • Proactively specify the marketing requirements for current and future gap periods/low demand times by liaising with DBD, Revenue Manager, C&E Business Manager, Director of Sales to ensure that marketing requirements are detailed and planned with correct lead periods and correct message.
  • Ensure that all planned strategies are measurable and are evaluated to gauge their success, with appropriate lead-in times and deadlines.
  • Liaise with Regional Marketing re joint marketing/promotional opportunities and ensure that the hotel complies with all agreed central and regional marketing activities that are relevant to the hotels commercial strategy.
  • Act as contact point for all hotel press enquiries, proactively fostering relationships with those journalists from key publications relevant to our target markets.
  • To analyse potential partner relationships for the hotel that will benefit both parties and reach the joint target markets.
  • To manage all aspects of print production, receipt and distribution with effective use of flyers, e-marketing, and all other forms of communication.
  • To proof-read and vet all written materials for external customer use, ensuring a high quality is achieved, before submitting to DBD for final approval.
  • To ensure strict compliance to Hilton Hotels brand standards in all artwork/graphic design/logos etc.
  • Oversee the consistency of all hotel communication tools in terms of design, copy, colour and adherence to Hilton Hotels brand standards.
  • Manage all social media channels for the hotel (Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, Blog for Galvin at Windows, You Tube etc) ensuring relevant information is posted on a weekly basis.
  • Monitor TripAdvisor and work with Guest Relations Manager to ensure posts are responded to in the correct way and in a timely manner.
  • Work with DBD and Regional Comms Mgr to ensure the nominated PR company are being proactive and adhering to our direction and strategies.
  • Work with Regional Comms on joint PR opportunities, including familiarization trips, ensuring coverage is obtained on a national and international basis from target source markets.
  • Maintain and monitor all databases within the hotel for all segments, ensuring all are kept up to date and targeted towards the correct market.(databases stored with HeBS).
  • Liaise with HeBS (Hilton e-Business) team to ensure all e-marketing complies with Hilton Hotels legal standards.
  • Maintain Hilton ART (previous creative library) ensuring our content is relevant and up to date at all times.
  • Manage and oversee 3rd party photo shoots and filming in the hotel, ensuring that there is either a distinct and measurable PR potential or a revenue gain.
  • Utilise information on the hotel's key source markets and determine appropriate marketing campaigns to increase business from these key markets.
  • Provide direction and follow-up to the Business Development Co-ordinator and other team members relating to marketing.
  • Attend F&B Marketing meetings and Business Focus Meetings (as directed by DBD) to understand the key markets and needs that marketing and advertising can address to improve results. Provide a Campaign Plan detailing activities to be undertaken to ensure results are achieved.
  • Attend DBD briefings with updates on campaigns.
  • Ensure that a monthly report to DBD is submitted with copies of all advertising placed in external publications.
  • Submit monthly report to DBD summarising activities carried out previous month and results gained.

What are we looking for?

A Marketing and communications Manager serving Hilton Worldwide Brand hotels and vacations are always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow:

  • 2 years marketing experience in a similar capacity preferably within travel and leisure sector
  • A marketing qualification (CIM) or similar
  • A strong communicator, the manager should be particularly good at working with all levels of management
  • Sound experience of web/internet marketing channels
  • A keen eye for detail and effective in judging quality
  • Excellent ability to accurately compose, edit and proof English script material
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Previous Hotel or leisure sector experience

  • Previous senior-level and management experience

  • Knowledge of computer design/graphic software

  • Relevant degree, in marketing, business development or other relevant business field, from an academic institution
