Software Engineer Halifax, West Yorkshire £30,000 - £40,000 (Dependent on Experience) + Extensive Benefits Package We are looking to grow our development team here at SSP Worldwide and you will be based at our headquarters in Halifax to be part of our key product team. You will be proficient in the development and maintenance of software and will be able to provide support and maintenance to ensure high quality, on-time product releases by developing/fixing functionality in accordance to guidelines and best practices. We'd like to meet a Software Engineer with - - C#, ASP.NET - .NET 4 or higher (4.5 is largely used) - SQL Server (2005/8/12) - TFS (2015 currently in use) - Visual Studio 2010 upwards (2015 currently in use) - XML/XSLT - IIS Configuration Software Engineer Responsibilities include - - Contributes and develops the prescribed SSP development processes, procedures and standards, leading by example - Leads and designs new functional areas documenting solutions and driving changes into production - Working closely with the business to assist in the requirements gathering and shaping process by bridging the gap between requirements and the art of the possible - Providing application support for production environments for investigating problems and releasing emergency fixes - Assist the development manager during planning and estimation sessions to challenge estimates as necessary - Problem-solving, ranging from difficult business problems to performance tuning analysis and resolution - Ensures code reviews take place in order to maintain high standards for new and existing solutions - To adequately test developed software to demonstrate that components meet all functional and technical requirements and to ensure the software is of a high quality - To take all reasonable steps to complete development assignments within realistic deadlines, providing regular updates on progress - To analyse and evaluate enquiries/problem reports and make recommendations - Able to rapidly prototype new solutions and willing to shape new solutions with their own ideas What's in it for you? - A unique working environment where you'll be surrounded by passionate experts from a variety of backgrounds and industries, all with the one strong, clear vision - to be the leading provider of insurance technology software - Generous salary and matching pension scheme - A clear, personal learning and development plan - Generous holiday allowance, free parking and subsidised gym memberships - Life insurance, cycle to work scheme and a large range of employee discounts and benefits A career with us: SSP believes the most valuable asset for any business is the people it employs.
