NPI ENGINEER THE REWARD: In return, the NPI Engineer will receive an hourly rate of £10 - £14 ( based on experience) Our client also offers enhanced rates for overtime and shift premiums You will be joining an expanding company therefore chance for progression within the company is high. THE COMPANY: Our Manufacturing based client has an exciting opportunity within their long-established organisation, at their facility located in Sutton-in-Ashfield Nottinghamshire. Supplying components to the civil and military Aerospace and Defence industry sectors, they have a vision to develop these and wider markets. An opportunity has arisen for an experienced NPI engineer to join this successful and well run company. WORKING CONDITIONS: 39 hour working week (Mon - Thurs 8.00am to 4.30pm, Friday 8.00am to 3.00pm) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor assigned engineering projects Conform to overall quality control of the work and report regularly on project status Cooperate and communicate effectively with project managers and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support Develop, oversee and seek continuous improvement of the Engineering process. Prepares defined work packages, including detailed instructions, drawings, bills of material, references, inspection requirements etc. Plan the process for manufacture Planning to previously established and proven efficient manufacturing sequences and lead times Prepare production reports and observations with recommendations regarding existing or required machinery Prepare computer generated drawings to clarify instructions, & provide other relevant information, such as applicable specs and regulations Confer with machining/programming staff concerning product and tooling to ensure efficient production methods Conversant with the NPI construction, requirements and process. SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES AND QUALIFICATIONS: The Ideal candidate will have an academic background if possible with NVQ level 3 / City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering. Would have served a recognized apprenticeship and have good Aerospace experience. Project Management qualifications would also be an advantage Person specification Industry experience - Aerospace (ideal), Nuclear, Medical or Automotive (high end), Motorsport: Working to AS9100 / EASA Part 21 (G) standards (ideal). Must have good team working skills coupled with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment. Flexible and forward thinker with a 'can do' attitude.
