Python/Django Developer - London - Hacker

Python/Django Developer - London - Hacker

Role: Python/Django Developer

Salary: £30-60,000 + benefits DOE

Location: Central London

Start: ASAP

My client, a digital agency, has its own tech team of around thirty developers and they are looking to grow further. They require a Python/Django Developer (preferably with a GitHub account, development blog or some sort of open-source contributions).

Essential skills:

• A proven ability to work independently and learn quickly

• Tack-sharp analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong testing: e.g. familiarity with unit and integration testing, TDD, continuous integration.

• Strong Python and Django

• DevOp experience: e.g. Vagrant, Puppet, Salt

• Front-end skills: e.g. Backbone, KnockOut, Less etc

• Non-trivial experience of one or more of Solr, Celery, MongoDB, ZeroMQ, Redis

Some of the projects you will be working on.

  • Large-scale e-commerce. We built and maintain django-oscar, one of the leading e-commerce frameworks for Django. Amongst other things, we use Postgres, MongoDB, Celery and RabbitMQ to solve high-volume e-commerce problems.
  • Rich-domain B2B projects. We use Django to solve complex business problems for multinational clients like Carlsberg and PepsiCo.

They are a large and friendly team who like to have regular drinks down the pub, football matches, team bonding days etc. They also have a great learning environment when it comes to developing your skills with various workshops and tech talks etc. You can even attend DjangoCon EU through the company as well as various other tech conferences.

This company are interested in you! Not just the tech that you have used but examples of your achievements and successes that prove you to be better than other candidates.

**Sponsorship is not offered for this role**

Interviews are underway as of today (13th September) and it is a quick turn around 2 stage process, so if interested, please send your CV to and call for more information. I cannot put any candidate forward to the client without first speaking to you.

*Please note, we also have many other permanent Python roles available in Central London and also Bath. If you are interested in chatting further about any positions, please get in touch.
