Confirmation of Vacancy 4048TPP Job Title: Systems Integration / Test Engineer REPORTS TO Senior Programme Manager Responsible for performing the system level integration and test (I&T) of all components, ensuring electrical and physical compatibility to meet programme technical, schedule and cost objectives. In support of system design activities, responsible for product test and integration of electromechanical systems from the system design phase through development, documentation, installation and commissioning of the completed system. This job description does not form part of your contract of employment. THE ROLE: Specific responsibilities include: developing, documenting and executing test specifications, analyses, trade studies, transition plans, installation plans, interface control documents, compatibility of physical and functional interfaces and first article product integration. Investigates and implements solutions to product, process or test problems. Analyses requirements for integration and/or testability issues. Develops and implements both hardware and software system level test programs, plans, specifications, procedures and customer acceptance. Plans and leads integration / test working groups, test readiness reviews, formal system verification of the system requirements and final test reports. Responsible for designing, developing and implementing cost-effective procedures of testing and troubleshooting of components, subassemblies, assemblies, and systems. Prepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment. Documents testing issues and problems. Performs analysis of test results. Supports formal system acceptance testing activities. EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE: Essential - Test system design and implementation. - Test fixture design Electro-mechanical test - High Pressure Pneumatics (350bar) derived from bottled inert gases, compressors & boost pumps LabVIEW software - VI creation for control/ capture of data - Sensors Accelerometers, Load Cells, Pressure Transducers, LVDT, etc - Environmental Testing: Temperature, Humidity, Vibration (Random, Shock, Resonance) - Requirements Generation - Report Generation - Diagnosis Capability i.e. Test Failures - Feedback of test results/analysis into design process - Scopes/ PSUs/ Function Generators Desirable - Automated test cell design/creation - Hydraulic Actuation Systems - Electrical/ Electronic Design - Diadem - Analysis of test data - High Speed Cameras (6k fps) - Track Image/ Report video acquisition and analysis - Environmental Testing: Sand/ Dust/ EMC/ ESS Knowledge of MIL-STD 810 & DEF STAN 00-35 Risk Assessment - CAD (Solidworks) - FEA Analysis Tools such as ANSYS - SKILLS Essential - Attention to detail essential. - Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workload appropriately. - Methodical approach to their work.
