MAUDS Technical Systems Consultant
NYP is seeking to appoint a new position that is an interesting and exciting opportunity to promote, develop and grow the use of a new system in NYP.
The ir3 system, known internally as MAUDS, is a powerful tool that visualises officer, vehicle and incident locations in real-time and can also present and analyse information historically. Access to the system will allow supervisors to review officer and vehicle location data over a given period of time. This has many uses such as optimise patrol strategies - ensure resources are attending at the right time and the right location; quickly deal with complaints – view where a person or vehicle was at a given time; speed up investigations – see where other officers were at the time an incident occurred. The successful candidate will initially work closely with the project team and the supplier to pick up the necessary skills, and to promote the use of the system throughout the force area, before taking over responsibility for MAUDS once the project is completed. Full training in MAUDS will be given.
The role will involve some system administration, but primarily will focus on working with stakeholders (both internal and external such as the system supplier) and other system users, building relationships to develop effective working practices and new/novel uses for the system. You will ensure these are developed and promoted with relevant practitioners in NYP. Attendance at a national user group, once this is established, will also be required.
Excel is the main reporting tool used by the MAUDS system. You will have excellent analytical skills and be competent in the use of Excel. You will be required to carry out detailed data analysis of the MAUDS system to inform demand and resource analysis work, and support decision making.
You will need to be self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team. You must have excellent communication skills and be focussed upon delivering high standards of customer service.
