THE COMPANY: Our client specialises in innovative, sophisticated, fabricated gas and liquid control systems and are a full-service provider and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for high technology industries. Our client has a global scale and reach, working with high technology industries, such as Semiconductor, Photovoltaic, Pharmaceutical, Aerospace and Energy and now seek a reliable Engineer with mechanical experience in the manufacturing industry to join their team based in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire.

THE ROLE: As a Mechanical Technician / Engineer you will be based in Bar Hill and will work alongside other Technicians to carry out a range of tasks in preparing, and assembling sophisticated, fabricated gas and liquid control systems. You will be required to carry out a range of tasks including Pipe preparation, TIG automated orbital welding, fault finding, and general assembly. The role will also require basic fault finding/inspections, following and reading technical drawings. Further training will be given for the TIG automated orbital welding. You will complete your duties whilst following and adhering to strict Health & Safety regulations.

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for the Mechanical Technician / Engineer's role must be qualified with a relevant qualification (preferably apprenticeship served) and/or have at least 2 years previous experience as a Mechanical Technician within a Manufacturing or Production environment. You should be a mechanically minded person who can work on your own, as part of a team and someone always striving to reach the highest standards in your work. You must be able to read and interpret technical drawings, and although further training will be provided for the right candidate, any previous experience in TIG automated orbital welding, Vacuum leak detecting and Experience of adhering to SOP and procedures would be a distinct advantage.

Key Experience/ Characteristics preferred for the Mechanical Technician / Engineer's role in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire :-

Must either have a completed recognised Mechanical apprenticeship, Mechanical qualification or either be qualified by experience (QBE)
At least 2 years previous experience in a similar role is essential
Must live in or be able to commute to Bar Hill, Cambridgeshire
Although further training will be given, previous experience of TIG automated orbital welding and vacuum leak detecting would be highly desirable
