My client is an exciting and growing consultancy in Nottingham who have won some fantastic contracts and secured investment which means they are ready to expand their SOC capability. They require a SOC Analyst to work Tier 1 responsibilities and you will need to demonstrate a strong understanding of networks and want to take the next step into a SOC. The network experience can come from an educational or work experience background but is essential. We are open to graduate level candidates with a strong education in a related field. This will include days/nights and a full week off. Responsibilities: - Responsible for working in a 24x7 Security Operation Centre (SOC) - Perform ongoing monitoring and threat analysis. - Supporting multiple customer environments concurrently - Respond to system generated alerts, analyse logs and traffic patterns - Provide analysis and trending of security log data from a large number of monitoring points - Generate customer facing daily, weekly and monthly security reports - Integrate and share information with other analysts and other teams - Research security trends, new methods and techniques used in unauthorized access of data in order to preemptively eliminate the possibility of system breach. - Perform other duties as and when required Required Experience: - Either up to 3 years experience in a SOC environment or a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent demonstrated experience and knowledge - Strong knowledge of Networks and their related security issues is essential - Knowledge of various security methodologies and processes, and technical security solutions (firewall and intrusion detection systems) - An understanding of or experience using SIEM tools will be a distinct advantage - Knowledge of TCP/IP Protocols, network analysis, and network/security applications - Knowledge of common Internet protocols and applications - Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively - Strong attention to detail - Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanour - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Excellent customer service skills - Candidate must be eligible to obtain a UK National Security Clearance If you meet the above requirements and want to work in an exciting and growing Cyber Security consultancy please apply below!
