POSTING END DATE: 26/10/2017 ADVERTISED SALARY: £35,000 - £45000 An ever-evolving heritage. A truly exciting future. Two of the world's most iconic brands. Jaguar Land Rover is revered across the globe. Continually pushing the boundaries of innovation and redefining the benchmark for excellence, we set the standards others want to follow. We want to keep it that way too. Which is where you join the journey. LOCATION Gaydon, Warwickshire WHAT TO EXPECT This team is one of the most experienced of its type in the UK and has the knowledge and talent to hold its own against the best body engineers anywhere in the world. From iconic body styling to interior detail, from doors and windows to whole-cabin systems, everything about our vehicles has to be perfect - this is what customers expect from a luxury brand. This is also what this team makes happen. Join them, and you'll help us to stay at the forefront of vehicle innovation and research, and to build on our position as a highly competitive brand in a highly competitive marketplace. Reporting to the departmental Group Leader for Underframe, you'll find this role to be both challenging and rewarding as it requires an ability to think laterally. Ideally from a casting or injection moulding background, you'll come to this role with familiarity with high-pressure moulding and casting techniques, preferably in aluminium or magnesium materials. Complementing your knowledge with an understanding of heat treatment, pre-treatment processes and basic tooling requirements would be highly advantageous. This role will also involve using CATIA V5 (or V6), and you'll be required to interrogate designs and drawings as well as generate concepts and modify existing designs. It is vital you'll have an understanding of geometric tolerances and, though this is not essential, you'll benefit from familiarity with both AVA modelling techniques in Generative Surface Design and solid modelling in Part Design. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you'll have extensive experience in castings or potentially plastic injection moulding. In addition, you'll have significant skill in CATIA V5 (or V6) and Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint. As you guide other engineers internally and externally, you'll instil a strong drive to achieve weight and cost-efficient designs. Meeting functional targets will also require a degree of strategic thinking towards system design rather than component design. An understanding of the vehicle attributes, testing and BiW architecture will be highly desirable as your role will encompass a broad range of components within body structures and related structural components. Finally, you should have good problem-solving abilities and be able to communicate at all levels both internally and externally. BENEFITS Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you'll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, membership of a competitive pension plan and a performance-related bonus scheme. All this and more makes Jaguar Land Rover the perfect place to continue your journey. Jaguar Land Rover is committed to equal opportunity for all.
