Mechanical Design Engineer - Andover - £25,000-£35,000 (DOE) A long established manufacturer are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Andover. The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will have experience of FEA and rapid prototyping and will have experience working in an electro-mechanical, machine build environment. The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will have experience of FEA and rapid prototyping and will have experience working in an electro-mechanical, machine build environment. Responsibilities: - To develop all aspects of mechanical design solutions for new and legacy products, producing detailed design documentation to support validation of design solutions. - Analyse requirements using DFMEA process to define test specifications. - Examination of designs using component level DFMEA process. - Assess the safety of product designs using Product Safety Hazard Analysis process. Skills and Experience: - Proficient in the use of CAD design packages, preferably Pro-E and / or Creo. - Knowledge of PDM systems (preferably windchill) - Proficient in the ability to calculate and evaluate tolerance stack up in assemblies - Experience in the design and development of mechanical or electro-mechanical systems, preferably which include safety critical elements, machinery design, sheetmetal and fabrication, motor and gearing applications, mechanisms and machine reliability - Experience producing technical drawings to BS8888 quality standards Knowledge; - Knowledge of Rapid prototyping and manufacturing techniques - Knowledge of material selection criteria, particularly steels and metals - Understanding of FEA tools and techniques - Knowledge of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to component level - Understanding of Systems Engineering principles (desirable) - Holds an HNC/Degree (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline relevant to mechanical engineering The Package: Salary - £25,000-£35,000 (depending on experience) Pension Scheme Working Hours - 08:00-16:45 (Monday - Thursday) 08:00-13:00 (Friday) 25 days holiday+ bank holidays Cycle to work Scheme Cash health care scheme Advanced Resource Managers Engineering Limited operates & advertises as an Employment Agency for permanent positions and as an Employment Business for contract/temporary positions.
