Reporting to the Head of Field Marketing for the UK&I, you will be responsible for leading activities across Manufacturing, Logistics, Energy & Utilities (MLEU) and Public Sector (PS). Knowledge in at least some of these industry verticals is required with a particular focus on Energy & Utilities.

The Role

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of digital marketing principles and will have demonstrable experience of incorporating digital marketing strategies into their marketing programmes. They will be responsible for setting the strategic vision, management and execution of marketing programmes to support the MLEU & PS verticals in UKI. Knowledge of the MLEU & PS industry verticals would be helpful, but equally important is experience of working in a professional services environment and a track record of delivering strategic marketing programmes targeted at the C-suite and senior decision makers in client organisations.

A key objective is to grow footprint, drive lead generation and increase mind share and market share for Cognizant’s business. Although the role is primarily focused on the UK and Ireland market, because of the global nature of the sector there will be an occasional need to collaborate with colleagues across Europe and North America, hence experience across Europe and NA is highly advantageous.

Key Objectives for the successful candidate will be:

1. Brand Building & Awareness – enhance the external perception of Cognizant – the value proposition, offerings and point of competitive differentiation. The ability to develop clear, succinct messaging and positioning statements, create strong visual identity and effective story telling skills are essential.

2. Market & Client Development – manage and deliver a number of Account based Marketing (ABM) campaigns to develop underpenetrated account and markets, build a local lead management process from creation, validation, qualification to follow-up to build a substantial and active deal pipeline.

3. Thought Leadership and Content Creation – create and develop industry relevant content to position Cognizant as a Thought Leader in the market. Manage the process end to end from development to design and promotion.

4. Opportunity Centric Marketing – Support major “Must Win Deals during the RFI and RFP processes. Develop competitively differentiated win strategies and bring the best of Cognizant to the proposal process.

5. Digital Marketing – identify and incorporate relevant digital marketing activities to support marketing activities and campaigns. A knowledge of effective social and digital marketing strategies and the ability to effectively write content for the relevant channels is essential.

Specific Responsibilities could include:

    Provide value-added input into concept development, budgeting, implementation and performance measurement for all Public Sector and Energy, Utilities, Manufacturing and Logistics UKI marketing programmes.Prioritise and execute joint marketing and communications with Public Sector highest priority clients that have been identified in the vertical business strategy and sales plans.Act as a strategic advisor and counsel to UK leadership, sales and account teams with regards to integrated marketing.Drive innovation and be a leader in advancing marketing techniques and approaches in line with the Digital outlook with the end consumer in mindCreate and develop marketing collateral and ensure a localised content pipeline e.g. presentations, brochures, fact sheets, videos, credentials and PoVs.Manage agency and contractor resources and third party service providers e.g. approved agencies, designers, writers, media / PR, telemarketing agencies.Define and track metrics to assess effectiveness of all Field Marketing programmes and initiatives.Plan and manage investment and budget items. Ensure a measurable Marketing ROI.
Skills required

    Experience in professional services B2B marketing and business development within Energy & Utilities or the Public Sector industryDeep and proven understanding of the consulting, technology and outsourcing industries, both within the UK and internationally.Strong business acumen and knowledge of Cognizant’s area of business and overall business strategy.Thorough understanding and skills in strategic Field Marketing and deep industry expertise is vital.Thorough understanding and ability to apply marketing concepts, branding and message development skills and drive innovation within marketingGlobal perspective and understanding of business marketplace.Prior experience with Salesforce and marketing automation tools.Promote collaboration while possessing strong project management skills – using project management toolsBudget management and financial reporting skills.Negotiation, mediation and conflict management skills to resolve complex or disputed issues.Able to influence executives within Marketing through relationship building and executive-level presence.Leadership skills — supervision, mentoring and managing Cognizant specialists/analysts and contractors.Excellent oral and written communications skills.Ability to manage projects under tight deadlines.
