Big Data Developer - London - 6 Months - Market Rate Pay - OUTSIDE IR35 One of our leading UK clients is recruiting for a Big Data Developer to aid them on an exclusive project in London. They are providing a central store for their customer's data, to provide a secure central service and to remove the need for data to be stored and accessed in separate local systems. Even though the customer is a government body, this role will reside within my client's Big Data practice, which means the role is OUTSIDE IR35. About the Big Data Developer Role: As a Big Data Developer, you will be working within a technical delivery team to assist with the completion of the deliverables for the programme delivery stage. You will be working with Linux based systems, operating live services in the Cloud and operating a performant shared platform. The successful candidate will be using their knowledge of Information Security and associate governance to apply security patterns according to best practice and NCSC guidance. You will be programming in Java 8 and you will be using build tools such as Gradle or Maven. Essential Skills: - Strong Java 8 experience - Extensive experience with Big Data technologies, e.g. Hadoop, Kafka, Samsa/Storm/Spark, HBase, HDFS, YARN, MapReduce, Lucene (Solr/Elastic), Ranger and Hortonworks - Vast experience using XML and JSON - Working knowledge of data serialisation systems, e.g. Avro and Protocol Buffers - Experience using build tools, e.g. Gradle or Maven This is an initial 6 month contract.
