About the role
The British Red Cross has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Digital Manager to join our Information and Digital Technology department. This role is ideal for someone who has digital project management skills.
As a Digital Manager you will support Head of Digital to deliver an ongoing programme of digital transformation, including the redevelopment of our web estate, manage the development of mobile apps and revolutionise our approach to service delivery. You will manage the day to day relationship with our internal supplier the Management Information Services team, working with them and external agencies to ensure sure our website infrastructure is performing as required.
About the team
The Information and Digital Technology (I&DT) function is responsible for the Technology - both IT and Digital - across the organisation. It has a budget of approximately 9 million pounds and many suppliers. Supplier management and a good handle on where and how project and BAU budget is being spent are critical to ensure that we are providing good value for money.
About the person
You will be an exceptional team player, working in a cross-functional team as we revolutionise how the British Red Cross helps people in crisis. To succeed in this role you must have following skills and experience:
- Project management skills
- Usability principles
- Search engine optimisation
- A working knowledge of HTML, PHP and CSS
- Experience of project management/issue management software such as JIRA, basecamp or Pivot Tracker
- Content Management and workflow
- Hands on experience of the development life cycle
- Experience of agile methodologies and practices
- Educated to degree level
- AA accessibility guidelines
- Experience of working in an agile environment
- Proven experience of managing a web site
- Proven experience of search engine optimisation
- Proven experience of developing mobile apps
- Experience of working with internal clients and external agencies to deliver projects on time in a deadline-driven environment
