Financial Systems Analyst Job Market: Insurance Financial Systems Analyst - Role Overview - * The Financial Systems Analyst supports the Finance Business partner (BP) who manages the Systems Accounting team and senior team members of the Systems Accounting Team with regards to finance systems ensuring department SLAs are delivered - * Additional responsibility to implement administer and develop robust finance systems to support all areas of the business whilst ensuring a high level of financial control - * The Financial Systems Analyst will be the focal point for identification and development of specific finance systems and Business MI opportunities supporting the Finance Department and all divisions of the business Financial Systems Analyst: About the Role - Responsible for support, maintenance and development of TM1 (Decision Support and Finance environments). - Be team lead on any aspects of development/maintenance requiring SQL or VBA expertise. - Be team representative responsible for liaising with Group Technology on technical issues (e.g. SQL/Server/Database issues) - Responsible for regular Business as usual tasks (e.g. Data Loads, reconciliations, database maintenance) - Assist and support the team in provision of Finance systems (Sun accounts and modules, system interfaces, C-Series BACS) - Provide 1st line support for TM1 users - Act as point of contact to ensure successful issue resolution and update customers according to agreed service level agreements. - Comply with best practice financial controls for finance systems that reduce risk to the company's financial accounts, bank accounts and financial data. Ensure coherence to the group system security and Data Governance policies and facilitate/respond to audit reviews. - Provide support for projects, representing the finance systems and Decision Support team on cross functional activities. Financial Systems Analyst: Key Requirements - IBM Cognos TM1, SUN Accounts, Reporting Services - Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint) - SharePoint - An aptitude for business IT and management information - Financial controls and an appreciation for financial/management accounting - Financial Services background preferred, although finance or MI background acceptable - Ability to document and convey potentially complex subjects in an articulate, coherent and digestible form - · Systems development and change control - · Sun Accounts & Vision Q&A experience - · TM1 experience - · SSAS cube structured reporting - · Data Warehouse - · SQL to intermediate level - · Access - · Bottomline Technologies C-Series - · Reporting Services - Insurance industry experience an advantage - Experience of working in Finance environment an advantage
