The successful candidate, will be working with cutting edge technology, and using their skills to ensure it long term success. The Opportunity The Network Engineer will be working as part of a high performing team based in Derby. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing the network environment and maximising the network performance that the company realise on. Fault finding will also be a big part of the role, ensuring that the network is running smoothly and free of bugs and faults. The role will also require the successful candidate to have excellent communication skills, being able to liaise clearly and confidently with colleagues across the business will be key to this role. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Network engineer to demonstrate both their technical skills and interpersonal skills. Location (s): Derby The Candidate The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience with an enthusiasm for new technology and a willingness to expand their knowledge and skills. Essentials - Knowledge of LAN / WAN (for both PC and Data Centre environments) - Establishing the networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation, defining, documenting and enforcing system standards; - Maximizing network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimisation; - Undertaking data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments, using information from multiple sources; - Preferred qualified CCNA/CCNP (Cisco) - Experience in virtualisation (WMware 6.5). Desirable - Experience in Requirement Engineering for embedded and desktop systems - Experience in Requirement Management using DOORS (9.6). - Experience in UML. - Knowledge of Software Engineering Closing Date: Likely Job Titles: Network Engineer, IT Engineer, IT Support, IT Maintenance, Technical Engineer, Engineering, Finance.
