Cyber Forensic Network Administrator

The Enforcement and Market Oversight Division ('EMO') investigates and brings regulatory cases, civil actions and criminal prosecutions aimed at changing behaviour in the industry. We wish to obtain timely, robust and cost-effective outcomes to help the FCA achieve its objectives of making sure that firms put consumers at the heart of their business, and that markets work well. EMO plays a key role in supporting the FCA's desire to identify potential problems at an early stage, and take steps to avert them. Our work is high profile, and a critical aspect of the FCA's approach.
Cyber Forensics is part of the Strategy and Delivery directorate within EMO, which is made up of specialist investigators in digital forensics and eDiscovery. The teams’ duties include:
·Management of digital evidence for EMO casework, including development of case strategies
·Analysis and investigation of digital evidence in accordance with ACPO guidelines
·Management of the evidence review platform
·Developing policy and expertise in digital forensics and eDiscovery
Cyber Forensics runs a dedicated support infrastructure to us to undertake these key duties within EMO.We are recruiting for a 6 month contract Network Administrator to assist with the day-to-day management of our network, as well as provide strategic input on what will be needed in the future to continue to support the team.You will also get exposure and experience to the workings of a Cyber Forensics team.
What does this job involve?
The key responsibilities of the post holder will be:
·Ensure smooth running of the Cyber Forensics support infrastructure
·Provide support, maintenance and troubleshooting of Cyber Forensics network
·To ensure the security of Cyber Forensics network infrastructure and systems
·To ensure timely technical support is provided to satisfy Cyber Forensics needs
·To be involved with designing, implementing and administering Cyber Forensics infrastructure as required
·To maintain an excellent level of technical knowledge in all relevant areas
·Maintain and create documentation about network infrastructure, policies and procedures
·To liaise with Cyber Forensics staff members in a prompt, effective and professional manner
Which minimum, essential & desirable skills are required?
·Ability to work with little supervision and prioritise own workload
·Good communication and interpersonal skills
·Knowledge or experience of Windows-based networks
Demonstrated knowledge or experience in the following areas
Management of Windows domains
Management of enterprise-level storage arrays
Use of Windows Server 2008 and 2012 and Windows 7/10
Management of Ethernet and fibre network patching and switching
Knowledge of IT Security and Data Protected issues
Knowledge of or experience in running and maintaining a disk and tape backup solution
·Knowledge of or experience in digital forensics
·Experience of providing technical support
·Professional qualifications in networking such as MCSE or CCNA
·Experience of troubleshooting hardware issues with desktops and servers
·Experience integrating Apple devices to a Windows domain
·Experience working with any of, CommVault, Nuix and FTK Lab
