Sales Director - Power & Infrastructure

We are looking for you to contribute to the strategic development of the Power and Infrastructure Division supporting the business to achieve its ambitious targets within the next 3 years. To become a key member of the Senior Management Team and support growth of the business.

What will you be doing?

  • Delivery of the overall sales targets for key customers as defined in the Sales and Marketing Plan.
  • Assist in the ongoing development of strategy to grow the business. To develop sales opportunities to drive revenue and margin. Maximise opportunities for increasing sales within our existing customer base through value-added propositions/solutions. Expansion of client base in the Energy and Defence markets. To establish relationships with Directors, Key Users and Managers. To identify suitable sales opportunities by continuous liaison with procurement decision makers and constant awareness of market trends and events. To be responsible for the management and production of bids including client presentations, preparation of costed proposals and bid clarification meetings. To map and manage the key client operational staff and stakeholders. Provide support to customers in building long term opportunities for Servelec revenue/margin growth. To maintain up to date information and intelligence on key projects, competitor activities, market trends including pricing, product developments, etc. Gathering of specific target market intelligence, working closely with the Sales Team, to ensure that these key sectors remain aligned to deliver the new business targets. Development of strategic partnerships, where applicable, to facilitate delivery of new business. Build a pipeline of opportunities that result in meeting the sales target but also match the overall strategy for the business. Provide full and accurate forecasting for Board reporting. To mentor and develop the junior members of the sales team.
The sales activity within this cohort is highly focused and is operated in collaboration with the business to ensure that the demands of the customer and the demands of selling in a highly complex area are met.

To be successful in this role you;

    Must have extensive knowledge of the UK Energy and Defence sector Consummate nuclear familiar sales professional with excellent sales skills and the gravitas to operate confidently up to customer board level within target customers. A natural ‘hunter’ with the drive to develop sales from early stage to final contract negotiation over various periods from a few months up to 2-3 years. Assist in the ongoing development of strategy to grow the business. Good grasp of large account management sales (£5-10M per customer per annum) methodologies and their successful implementation. A clear, demonstrable grasp of the importance of key sales activity planning and the ability to organise and manage the activity necessary to deliver agreed revenue. The ability to flex these activity plans according to market/service changes whilst maintaining sufficient focus to ensure that today’s overall activity levels are maintained. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to manage and develop a suitable pipeline for sales opportunities in line with the Sales and Marketing Plan and create appropriate key performance indicators to manage their progress through the sales process. An excellent people person with strong perceptivity and rapport skills, motivating, supporting and communicating with the rest of the business. Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills. Be comfortable presenting to large audiences that are often mixed. A motivated self-starter. Able to take direction from senior colleagues and partners. SC or DV Cleared either at present or in the past and still eligible to achieve similar security clearance. Familiarity with Sellafield, EdF Energy, Nuclear New Build - Various, Magnox, Dounreay Site Restoration Limited, Tier 1 Nuclear Contractors, MoD, Rolls-Royce Submarines, BAE Systems Barrow, Babcock Marine would be beneficial.
