Our Client are a leading electronics business based in the North East of England. The company currently require a talented Safety Software Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • A good understanding of the concepts and processes of ISO26262.
  • Define and analyse software requirements
  • Derive software requirements
  • Design software components to unit level from requirements and system design ensuring consistency and traceability
  • Confidently design software using semi-formal notation
  • Code in ANSI C 99 to MISRA 2004/2012
  • Develop and maintain static and unit tests
  • Define, develop and execute integration test plans
  • Perform safety analysis on safety related software components
  • Perform code Inspection or review for suitability as safety related code
  • In-depth understanding of the following concepts
  • Requirements developing software to a specific ASIL
  • Methods and mechanisms to ensure freedom of interference of software of differing ASILs
  • Ensure correct access to shared hardware resources within the execution environment
  • Diagnostic functions of state of the art micro controllers
  • Real time operating systems for safety related systems
  • Understanding of safety architectures and concepts
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products particularly Word, Excel and Visio.

Skills Required:
  • Previous experience of Safety Related Software Engineering: developing software component through the entire software development lifecycle.
  • A good understanding of the concepts and processes of ISO26262.
  • Ability to work as part of a team advising and supporting cost effective safety solutions where necessary.
  • Understanding of motor control, inverter technology - principles and operation
  • In depth knowledge of automotive safety concepts and processes
  • Infineon Aurix microcontrollers - including SafeTLib
  • Working knowledge of power electronics.
  • Hardware experience regarding implementation of functionally safe hardware down to component level.
  • Practical knowledge of automotive and industrial technologies.
  • Previous experience of automotive electronics.
  • Previous experience of CAN protocols.
  • Surface Mount Permanent Magnet Motor Control.
  • Induction Machine Motor Control.
  • Isograph reliability workbench.
  • Requirements / Configuration Management Tools, Ideally Cradle.
  • Design capture tools and language (Ideally Enterprise architect).
  • Qualified to degree level (2:1) in an appropriate engineering discipline such as electrical and electronic engineering.

Salary: £30,000-£45,000 plus benefits
