Role PurposeThe role is to deliver all contract accounting, management reporting, financial planning and analysis for the Contracted Clients reporting to the Finance Director.
oContract accounting: gain an in-depth understanding of contracts by customer and site, control the financial go-live of new contracts, control revenue, costs and cash through the life of existing contracts.
oMonth-end close: independently close the month-end for all Client Services contracts including leadership of the transactions team, posting of accruals, prepayments, maintenance of fixed asset register, P&L review and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
oMonth-end reporting & analysis: prepare contract variance analysis, review performance & KPIs with Client Services Managers, prepare Executive Report for review with Finance Director and Client Services Director (P&L, BS, CF)
oBusiness Partnering – driving growth through supporting and challenging key members of the UK Executive team to ensure the business achieves / exceeds its forecasts and budgets
oCommercial: work with Commercial Managers to gain understanding of upcoming deals in order to be prepared for their operational implementation, deliver ad-hoc analysis such as project benchmarking
oForecasting: monthly reforecasting of existing contracts as well as pipeline deals
oClient facing: act as the key finance contact for clients and attend client meetings
oCompliance: ensure periodic reporting deadlines (VAT, CIS) are met, with submissions correctly supported, calculated, reviewed and submitted. Be a key contact for external audit team.
oTeam management: be able to lead, motivate and manage a small team of part-qualified accountants
oContinual improvement: help drive improvement in finance systems, processes, reports etc
Background and experienceQualified (CIMA/ACCA) with post-qualification experience working in a dynamic finance department within a rapidly growing business, where change is rapid and deadlines are tight. The candidate may currently be a Finance Manager in a similar sized SME or Management Accountant in larger corporate looking to take the next step in their career. A background in outsourcing or similar organization where growth is driven by long-term customer contracts.
