*C# Back-end Developer - up to £45/ hour - ~2 month contract (initially) - Leicester*

**Please note - you must currently hold a full airside pass or have the ability to obtain one**

My client based in Leicester are currently looking for a C# Back-end developer to join their team. The purpose of this role is to be involved in designing and implementing server-based applications for airport software solutions using Microsoft® technologies with Oracle® as the back-end database. The successful candidate will be able to confidently write, test and debug critical code. Experience in working on mission critical Microsoft server based applications where high availability is of paramount importance (Server-side code for front-end development is not applicable for this requirement)

Key tasks and deliverables:
*Develop module design specifications in accordance with the detailed / functional design requirements.
*To proactively report unsafe conditions, unsafe acts and near misses and to become part of the extra ordinary safety culture and help promote the 'Home safe everyday campaign'
*Develop software in accordance with approved module design specifications.
*Configuration control of all developed software.
*Write module tests and perform formal module testing within a configured environment
*Integrate and test developed software modules into overall system/product.
*To Formally handover completed software modules to the integration test team
*To fully understand, take ownership and deliver the scope of work that is being assigned within the budget and time that is allocated to tasks.
*To identify all risks associated with the planned activities and immediately advise the Project Engineer/Project Manager of any issues that could impact the project (including but not limited to technical, interfaces, programme, budget etc.) together with mitigation of impact of these.
*To Liaise with all necessary interfaces (e.g. other team members, project engineer) to ensure that all required information for the tasks have been received and to immediately highlight any deficiencies.
*To provide accurate progress reports including estimates to complete and mitigation of delays etc. on a weekly basis
*To work within the defined high level software team engineering processes and procedures

Essential skills and experience:
*PC Literacy particularly the use of Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint
*Excellent IT skills (including those listed above)
*Able to manage and co-ordinate working groups consisting of people from differing elements and levels within their organisations
*Good personal planning, organisational and analytical skills
*Ability to produce software and documentation whilst under time pressure/demanding constraints
*Experience of working with Project teams and an understanding of the project management process
*Facilitation of process development and review workshops and team briefs
*Experience in working with a diverse range of specialist team members
*Experience of HAL document management process and procedures including the use of Documentum would be an advantage
*Experience in designing and coding server based applications using visual studio with .Net framework 3.5, 4.0 and 4.5.
*Experience of writing server based code that interfaces to relational databases such as Oracle and SQL server with strong SQL query experience
*Experience in delivering software solutions to commercial clients as opposed to internally led projects
*Experience in writing communications interfaces to external systems using protocols such as TCP/IP Sockets, Siemens S5/S7, Modicon Modbus plus on a Windows server environment using C#, .Net and associated drivers.
*Experience of writing thread safe code in multi-tasking environments with an understanding of asynchronous event processing
*Experience of working in process control, warehouse automation, industrial control logistics or a similar business area

Essential knowledge:
*Extensive knowledge of Airline/Handler baggage operational processes
*Extensive knowledge of cross Heathrow baggage operations and maintenance processes and procedures
