Credit Controller Up to £26,000 based on experience | LS1 4BA| Permanent We're currently recruiting for an experienced credit controller to join our finance team based in our Leeds office. Tasks and responsibilities: - Collection of the company's debtors, to process sales ledger and accounting data efficiently, and to help ensure that external clients and the internal network receive a quality service in all respects. - Credit checking, assessment and monitoring of credit risk for new and existing customers and prompt and accurate account opening. The role will include increased sign off and responsibility for credit limits. - Checking and sending of month-end statements - Regular contact by telephone and email to arrange prompt collection of due accounts - Dealing promptly with queries raised by the clients. - Discussing individual problem debtors with the relevant partner and agreeing appropriate action. - Overseeing the day to day maintenance of the debtor ledgers. - Pre-legal assistance to partners to assess fitness for legal action. - General housekeeping duties in order to keep ledgers accurate and tidy. - Keeping the Financial Controller fully informed of the current status of work and of any problems encountered, and to offer suggestions as to how such problems might be resolved. - To check in detail all work undertaken in the department to ensure it is error free, and to complete work on a timely basis ensuring departmental deadlines are met. The post holder will hold responsibility for achieving targets and deadlines. - A good general standard of education including English and Maths GCSE (or equivalent) at grade C or above. CICM Qualification or part qualification. - Carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, the title of the role and its grading, as requested by the Financial Director, Head of Department or any Partners. Relevant experience and qualifications: - Excellent computer skills - MS Office - Good communication skills - CICM Qualifications - desired - AAT Qualified or equivalent
