Job Overview Are you a Java Developer used to working in a dynamic, fast paced and ever evolving environment and looking to cross train into the world of Big Data? Here at LexisNexis we work with big data, geospatial data, and Java web technologies. Bringing these together so that we can provide more answers to more clients about the perils their properties face. As we implement new customers on our big data solution (HPCC), we need someone who can help us integrate these with our existing Java technology. We're looking for someone who loves technology - big data, threading, performance, highly available and scalable systems, where you will be given responsibility, and authority, for delivering this to our product. We offer an agile development methodology, working in sprints to deliver functionality to the product. In this role we expect you to bring knowledge of how to work with data, to query it quickly and simply and to integrate this with our Spring based Java applications. We will provide an environment that will allow you to learn big data (HPCC) and geospatial principles and to put them into immediate practice, as well as continuing to further your learning of Java.
