We are seeking a flexible and enthusiastic team player to join the ICT team in delivering several key transformational projects within the system. Working with and enhancing our database systems you will be implementing back-end services mainly around API functionality, primarily built on the Laravel framework. Though the main focus will be MySQL database development and PHP implementations using Laravel some flexibility would be required to take on other tasks as directed including some technical design, schema planning, deployment planning, testing, and other roles as needed.

Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

The technical quality of the programs is paramount and they are continually developed and checked throughout the year.

Located in Norfolk, our client continues to deliver and support a wide variety of programs internationally from their base. Over time, as with most industries, increasing use has been made of technical solutions both for office work and also to deliver new and innovative products to customers.

Candidates must have the following:

Detailed knowledge of SQL
Detailed knowledge of PHP
Proven use of frameworks in development
Experience of working in an agile iterative manner
Proven track record of enterprise development projects

Flexible approach to tasks and ability to multi-task
Experience with Laravel
Experience with MySQL/MariaDB
Experience of API data exchange with JSON would be an advantage
Experience in cloud-based platform

Primary responsibility will be building API services in Laravel to connect back-end data services with front-end connections from web and app clients. Large sections of this in terms of data contract will already be defined (and in the process of development), but there is also scope to provide input and expertise into the planning and implementation of new features. The ideal candidate would be a flexible and engaged team player willing to undertake a great deal of different tasks.
