We have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Advisor to join the team based in Norwich (city centre) at Grade B.

The purpose of this role is to assist in the production of payroll processes within the Payroll Team to ensure our 16,000 employees across the UK & Ireland are paid accurately and on time. You’ll deliver UK&I payrolls and also liaise with clients in a professional manner and deal quickly and effectively with client queries.

The primary focus of this role is to administer daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual activities associated with payroll processes, prioritise and manage your workload to meet payroll deadlines for UK & Ireland and support risk and audit activities. You’ll also be encouraged to work collaboratively across key internal teams to improve end to end flow of work and overall customer experience. You’ll do this by identifying customer UK & Ireland demands/failure and waste by collecting customer data and building relationships across HR UK & Ireland and other business areas. Finally, you’ll make decisions in the interests of customers UK & Ireland which are properly balanced and reflect fair customer outcomes.

A selection of some of the processes will include processing payments, management of overpayments process, and administration of season ticket and company loans - making payment and confirming set up detail to payroll provider. You’ll also, collate and provide data outside of standard integrations, e.g. adhoc bonuses, one off deductions and pensions contributions.

This role is offered on a one year fixed term contract basis.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Previous experience working with financial ledgers and account reconciliation.
  • Excellent communication skills through various methods.
  • Payroll related qualification and knowledge of processes.
  • High-level, broad-based understanding of HR Policy UK & Ireland.
  • Knowledge of statutory obligations affecting payroll systems UK & Ireland.
  • Good numerical skills with an attention to detail.
  • Computer literacy of systems such as Excel and Workday.
  • Regulatory requirements; including TCF, money laundering and Data Protection.
  • Previous experience working with suppliers or customers is advantageous.
