Assistant Civil Engineer Midlands | Permanent £30 - 35,000 D.O.E A family run bespoke national house builder, who has developed and nurtured their culture based on the foundations of innovation and collaboration amongst their staff, is currently looking for an Assistant Civil Engineer to come on board on a permanent basis. They operate across Central and Southern England and foster a family feel environment where everyone is seen as an individual. Key Responsibilities: -You will assist in the design of civil engineering projects, as well as providing assistance to a Senior Civil Engineer, and at times working independently on smaller developments. -Under the guidance of the Senior Engineer, interpret geo-technical and geo-environmental reports and advise on development constraints; -Procure topographical surveys, utility surveys, structural and party wall surveys; -Oversee the development of a cost effective road and sewer design utilising consultants together with detailed local site works design development; -Co-ordinate and manage external consultants to resolve any engineering issues -Ensure compliance with building regulations and NHBC standards -Secure technical approval for roads and sewers together with any off site works. -Oversee the preparation of all services drawings i.e. existing and proposed. -Input and preparation of the CDM/Health and Safety/Environmental System/LAMP checklists -Undertake regular site visits and attendance at site project meetings Key Skills/Experience: -HND/HNC in relevant engineering discipline -Experience of engineering design for a house builder is advantageous -Knowledge of relevant legislation e.g. Highways, Water industries -Strong skills in AutoCAD, PDS and Microdrainage In return for your efforts, you will receive an excellent package including a car allowance.
