You will be responsible for caring for children aged from 6 months to 4 years. You will need to be attentive, supportive and spontaneous, to work calmly as part of a team organising the environment to support the children's development and skills. You will need to have an awareness of health and safety and carry out daily tasks responsibly. You will be spending time bonding with the children , offering small group activities, such as reading, garden time, circle time or arts and crafts.

Daily Duties:
• Sweep down and clean garden floor, then set up activities for children (baby and toddler section)
• Prepare area for morning snacks, clean and disinfect tables with spray and blue paper towels, bring out bibs & baby wipes ready for use.
• Help to tidy up after snacks and prepare the room or a table for your activity (refer to your planning sheet) Finish and tidy away by 11. Carry out this activity by yourself or with a member of the team. Ensure you are supervised and supported. If you need resources, please ask the room leader
• Prepare areas in the same way as you did snacks for Lunch & assist with the lunch, serving, helping children, putting away. (blue gloves & aprons for serving food)
• Set up an indoor or outdoor focus activity & carry out. Should last 15-20 minutes
• Prepare area for snacks (same as the morning)
• Help to tidy away after snacks
• Story or circle time before tea

Other Information :
The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
