Qualified accountant needed for the Head of Corporate Reporting at a leading Higher Education establishment.

Your new role

The main purpose of the job is to help lead, support and co-ordinate the organisations' annual budgetary and financial (5 year) planning process and monthly monitoring processes. In addition, the post holder will manage the TRAC/Costing Management Accountant, provide the leadership for change and continuous improvement, work closely with colleagues in Strategic Change and Planning (SCaP) and other directorates and faculties as required, including in cross-organisation groups to dissect data and bring together financial and non -financial information, in particular fees and student numbers and also commissioning reports from the Electronic Data Warehouse (EDW).

What you'll need to succeed
CCAB qualified accountant with significant post-qualifying experience in complex and diverse organisations.
Significant management accounting / financial planning and closure of accounts experience in a complex organisation for a minimum of three years. Report writing for Senior Managers or Committees/Boards.
Experience in Microsoft Office and advanced skills in Excel; use of large integrated financial systems.
Ability to synthesise and analyse complex information and make sound judgements and decisions based on this. Manipulate and present data in robust and transparent way and What if scenario planning.
Experience of managing a professional team; staff development and motivation; delivering to timetable and work plan.
Ability to communicate effectively and gain credibility at senior level. Experience of budget holder support and advice. Ability to deliver training on budget monitoring and use of financial systems.
Contribute to the professionalism and improvement of the Finance Function
