Marketing Manager required. 35k pa plus quarterly 1% bonus, 22 days holiday rising to 25 after 5 years, private healthcare and onsite parking. Great opportunity to make your mark in an established, forward thinking IT company.

Our client, a successful technology based company in Basingstoke, is looking for a Marketing Manager to head up their marketing team which consists of a Creative Designer, Marketing Executive and E-commerce Executive. Reporting into the Group Commercial Director, the marketing team plays an integral part in the internal and external communication of the Group and its Go to Market capability. The Marketing Department is vital to ensuring the Group realises the maximum potential of its markets.

The Marketing Manager position is a new role within the Marketing team that will become integral to delivering all marketing activity, across all business units. The successful candidate will be innovative in their marketing strategies, an influential communicator and passionate to develop the marketing team and the services it provides to the Group Companies.

Key duties that the Marketing Manager will carry out include:
  • Working with Business Unit (BU) Directors and the Business Development (BD) Director to build and maintain an effective marketing plan that supports the Company’s growth aspirations as detailed in its Strategic Plan
  • Working with the BD Director to create and manage a marketing strategy that leverages the Group's presence on public sector framework agreements with the aim of providing a route to market for its existing and potential partners
  • Building and maintaining strategic relationships with vendors, delivery partners and key industry players
  • Managing and keeping record of the market development funds (MDF) made available by the Company’s vendors, ensuring effective marketing activities are planned, agreed (with senior management) and executed to realise the available MDF
  • Managing a small team of highly motivated individuals that comprises of a Marketing Executive, an E-Commerce Executive and a Creative Lead.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for convening regular team meetings, setting of KPIs and performance management to ensure team development
  • Creating and implementing an effective mechanism for lead generation to support the BUs and BD department with winning new business
  • Ensuring the effective implementation of SEO and analytics reporting to measure performance of marketing campaigns
  • Managing the marketing budget and marketing activity to achieve sales and margin targets
  • Managing the team’s workload and priorities to ensure deadlines are met
  • Oversee website maintenance and content generation to ensure the Company’s brand is positioned strongly in the marketplace
  • Managing social media presence for Group Companies, providing ‘thought leadership’ content to be shared via the Group’s social media accounts
  • Advising and supporting the BUs on all Company marketing events including trade shows, partner events and networking events
  • Skills and Experience:
  • A minimum of 3 years previous marketing management experience
  • Able to manage the team’s workload to meet deadlines
  • Strong acquisition marketing experience
  • Ability to thrive in a highly pressurised and competitive working environment
  • Experience in digital marketing
  • Excellent SEO knowledge and social media platforms
  • Excellent Microsoft office and Adobe Creative Suite skills
  • Proven track record in planning creating and delivering successful marketing campaigns
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to manage multiple projects and changing priorities
  • Able to positively influence stakeholders
  • Drive performance and morale within the Marketing team
  • Experienced in successfully managing departmental budgets
  • Experience in the IT industry and knowledge of IT solutions is desirable
  • Experience of marketing within the UK public sector is desirable
  • Experience in running e-commerce activity is desirable
  • Event management experience is desirable
  • Proven Human2Human marketing experience is desirable
