Position: Application Support Engineer Looking to move up from 1st Line support? Want to try something even more technical? Well as luck would have it, we have a position for you. You will join a tight nit team of 1st line, 2nd line and operational staff that provide support to applications business wide. As the application support engineer, you will be a fundamental part of making sure the day to day business operations are live and working. You will work with your team and 3rd parties to react to live incident escalations as well as providing 2nd line technical support by phone, email or in person when required. The company As the Application Support Engineer, you will join a company who has been around since the 1960's and has grown two have 2 offices and now employs over 10,000 people UK wide. Whilst their offline retail business has been an integral part of the company and its growth, a lot in now being invested in their online business and presence. Further responsibilities of the Application Support Engineer? - You will provider regular customer and business updates on support calls - As the application support engineer you will create and update process documentation - You will assist in the weekend and major event planning - You will proactively look for innovative ways of working and improve efficiency where possible - You will ensure that all IT policies and procedures are followed - You will play a part in strategy and management meetings What skills are required of the Application Support Engineer? - You will be confident working on Microsoft products such as Windows OS, MS Office 2010, 2013 and O365. - You will also be well rehearsed in providing support for Exchange and working with Active Directory - You will have experience working on HP Data protector and NetBackup - Knowledge of Windows server and VMware is desirable - You will have previously worked in an environment where Change control and is strictly adhered to. A major step forward recently has been working within the ITIL framework. If you have the qualification or knowledge this will be highly advantageous.
