Working within a purpose-built facility, the operation at Central Way in Feltham provides laundered, recycled and new laundry products for in-flight and airport use directly to London Heathrow, Gatwick & Manchester airports.

As Chief Engineer and Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing a dedicated team of engineers to provide engineering support for the operation and to measure the performance and usage of equipment, energy and water.

This will involve:

  • Managing the team of plant engineers to provide engineering support for the operation
  • Managing purchase of plant spares, equipment and external engineering support when needed
  • Managing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) regime including creating the PPM material and training the team
  • Ensuring that all plant and machinery is fit for use
  • Monitoring daily safety checks
  • Writing engineering risk assessments
  • Providing training to engineering and certain key operational staff
  • Ensuring that access to the site is restricted to authorised personnel
  • Weekly warehouse racking safety checks
  • Administering the TSA Climate Change Agreement
  • Monitoring energy and water usage
  • Planning to reduce energy and water usage
  • Ensuring adequate Health & Safety plans are in place and administered - Inc. Training, Risk Assessments and Safety Audits

Your experience will include:

  • A strong engineering background along with operational management experience - ideally within an Industrial Laundry setting
  • Educated to Degree level
  • Ability to cope under stress
  • Ability to be structured with clear thinking
  • Strategic thinking
  • Physical fitness due to the size of the site and demands of the role
