My client is a Rapidly growing Software security provider, formed by ARM and Gemalto to address a lucrative gap in smart connected devices. The company´s technology enables service providers to innovate, expand and simplify user experiences in areas such as enterprise, commerce, payments and entertainment. Roles and Responsibilities The Application Protection team is part of the wider Product Engineering group within the company and is responsible for developing and delivering a world class developer SDK to their many partners. The SDK provides an application developer easy access to the company's hardware TEE, and automatically falling back to a software based white-box cryptography solution where the hardware TEE is unavailable. The SDK targets Android and iOS mobile platforms, with others in the pipeline. The main responsibilities of the team are - The production of software designs and detailed specifications for internal and external discussion - Software development, debug, and testing from an early stage of the project right through to client delivery - Creating tools, documentation, training materials and code to help partners realise their solutions - Ensuring the business continue to adhere to the highest security and cryptographic standards - Constantly innovating and improving SDK's and associated products - Becoming a local expert on the company's TEE and its features, able to assist in software deployment on multiple platforms, and becoming an evangelist for development partners The App team is a small, friendly, dynamic team of ~10 engineers, where everybody is committed to building an innovative best-of-breed solution. Personal qualities - Team player - Able to thrive in a dynamic, constantly evolving, small team environment - Prepared to invest whatever effort is required to get the job done - Operate in integrity and transparency and conduct business in a proper manner - Customer and business oriented good creative intelligence (design and conceptualization) - Tenacious with a problem-solving approach - Organized, rigorous and autonomous - Good relationship with team and clients - Operate in integrity and transparency and conduct business in a proper manner Essential Skills/ Education - A degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience. - Languages: Objective-C targeting iOS/ Android using C/C++ - Familiarity with scripting languages and version control, ideally Python / Bash / Subversion / Git - An analytical mindset, able to approach a problem and devise a systematic way of solving it - A problem-solver, often thinking of unique ways of working to improve everyday tasks - An independent team member able to work autonomously on tasks in a holistic way, from design right through to implementation - Strong team player able to work with cross-functional and distributed teams, able to lead where necessary - Fluency in English is required, as it is the business language in the company Desirable Skills - Experience of Android, Android Studio and the Android NDK - Other build systems / scripting languages: Gradle / Perl / Ruby / Xcodeproj / make - Working knowledge of applied cryptography / PKI - Proven methodological testing skills - An appreciation of modern approaches to UX - Experience using Xcode
