A specialist SEN school in Ealing that caters for children with Autism is seeking to appoint an additional teacher to their primary phase to cover PPA on a full time basis. The school is focused on children with moderate to severe ASD and as such the curriculum is based largely on the EYFS 'P Levels and lower KS1. The Headteacher is seeking to appoint a new and forward thinking Autism Specific Specialist. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and committed Teacher with good recent ASD teaching experience who is adaptable and willing to work across the Primary Department within the school. The school is a friendly, safe, positive and structured environment in which every young person is respected and encouraged to achieve independence (through academic, employment and personal skills development).

The school favours a cognitive behavioural therapy approach to teaching and learning and uses the National Autistic Society TEACCH guidelines as the cornerstone of their ethos for teachers and support workers. ABA techniques are used where beneficial for the pupils but this is not the direction that the leadership favour.

This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of our school's continued development where you will be working closely with the Principal, Deputy Principal Teaching and Support staff to improve learning outcomes for all pupils.

The SLT are committed to improving and have set 'Outstanding' in their next OfSTED (dues 2018) as the benchmark for success. This means there is a huge appetite for training to ensure that pupils receive the highest level of education and experiences. Their passion to ensure that all pupils can have the best life chances and the work that ensures that this is a sustainable reality for every young person (on an individual needs led basis) is outstanding and highly motivational.

To be considered for this role, you will need to be able to demonstrate a desire for improving pupil outcomes, as well as some specialist ASD knowledge (through experience and/or practice). The right candidate will have a passion for teaching and learning and the skills to engage, inspire and motivate students. You will also offer a flexible approach to your role and be confident in delivering learning and development to small groups and across various levels of academic ability.

By joining this fantastic school you will:
Have an opportunity to make a difference to the lives of pupils and to the school;
Meet and work with wonderful, hardworking pupils and colleagues;
Have increased opportunities for continued professional development.

Your working week will be Monday- Friday.
