Income Recovery Assistant Christchurch, Dorset £21,921 per annum Sovereign is a social business and one of the largest housing associations in the country. We provide over 55,000 homes for around 130,000 people in housing need across the south and south west of England and the Isle of Wight. We're also a major developer of affordable housing, building around 1,500 new homes each year to rent or buy. Sovereign was formed in November 2016, as the result of a merger between Spectrum Housing Group and Sovereign. ROLE (OVERVIEW) Sovereign Housing Association are looking to employ a highly motivated Income Recovery Assistant to work within our Centralised Income Recovery Team in Christchurch, Dorset. In this role, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the department, in addition to maximising the Associations income through proper and effective collection of rent and all other charges. You will also ensure that residents who have difficulties in paying are offered advice, support and assistance and referred to one of our Welfare Benefits Officers and/or an external debt advice agency as appropriate. RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY DUTIES - Provide administrative support to the team, inputting data and calculating payment plans - Ensure rent/service charge & sub accounts are managed in accordance with the Group's Procedures - Providing appropriate advice and support to our residents to enable them to maintain a clear rent account - Negotiate and collect payments ensuring accurate records are made of all communications ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE As Income Recovery Assistant, you will need to have demonstrable Customer Service experience, and be educated to GCSE level in English and Maths. You must also have excellent attention to detail, be able to demonstrate strong literacy and numeracy skills and be able to communicate at all levels. You will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with the ability to prioritise a busy role as well as being proficient in IT systems including Word, Excel and Outlook.
