My Client is urgently seeking an individual with a Learning & Development background in Engineering who is ready to take the step into a high performing team that is responsible for delivering the training need to over 650 members of staff across the Engineering and Asset Management team, This role will also provide a direct line of management with regards to Advance Engineering Apprentices (circa 40 in total). The holder of this position will asses and define technical competency for the engineering and asset management function. The applicant must have a sound knowledge of training practices and be able to assess competency and define bespoke development plans for staff at all levels of the engineering organisation This role forms a key part of the centrally based Engineering Training and Development team and is the centre coordinator for the EAL accredited apprenticeship scheme Key Account Abilities EAL Centre Management - Including OFSTED reviews of the Heathrow Centre, Verifier Co-ordination and defining assessment routes. Budget management - responsible for ensuring accurate reporting of P and L for both HR and Engineering funded training Responsible for providing verification of all NVQ3 modules forming the Advanced Apprenticeship Scheme. Including: - Completing assessment plans - Providing training and guidance on evidence collation - Making judgement and providing feedback Scope of Boundaries Direct management of circa 30 staff Opportunity to provide training solutions for up to 650 staff Delivers technical training to ensure the competency of all engineering staff Budget accountability of up to £1.2 m training budget Lead verifier for Heathrow EAL centre Qualifications & Experience Excellent IT skills able to deliver comprehensive Powerpoint, Excel and Word documents and be willing to learn Cornerstone LMS, Oracle and Claro E Learning content Qualified A1 (D32/33) NVQ Assessor or a sound knowledge of NVQ modules and be willing to attain assessor certification Train the Trainer accreditation Demonstrable leadership skills SHL Testing experience/accreditation Experience of assessing and observing behavioural and technical skills Comprehension of the need for competency assessment and the various ways in which this can be delivered Ideally an ONC or 5 years equivalent experience in an Engineering discipline, but also take into account high level of competence in other areas of training, development and IT systems
