Leading Insurer require a MI & Data Manager to take a strategic approach to the use of data by working closely with the Executive, Pricing, Actuarial, Claims and Finance Teams. You will ensure that all data output is in accordance with the business plans, strategic growth and objectives. Key Accountabilities - Manage key stakeholders with monthly meetings across the organisation to ensure workloads are prioritised in accordance with business needs and communicated appropriately. - Produce regular business performance data and management information for analysis, executive and governance purposes in a consistent, accurate and timely manner. - Working with the team to oversee and manage the development of a comprehensive data warehouse to ensure all data is clearly defined and produced in a more robust manner. - Planning and organising team workload with BAU and projects for a period of up to 12 months, incorporated with an agile mind-set to meet the business demands. - Interrogate all wider internal data sources to ensure the business is provided with the most comprehensive data possible. - Create a comprehensive data dictionary for all outputs and items within the warehouse, working with internal stakeholders to ensure the data defined is clear and consistent throughout. - Identify and monitor risks associated with data & data security and report on the potential business impact of these risks across the business - Consider future IT developments within the market place and if applicable, contribute to the development and implementation of systems and processes to support the delivery of on-going management information requirements; ensure reports deliver the information required to underpin effective decision making across the business. Knowledge and Experience: - In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAS and other analytical tools. - Knowledge and understanding of data processing tools and techniques, such as SAS, SQL and R. - Knowledge and understanding of data visualisation tools and techniques, e.g. SAS Visual Analytics, Micro Strategy, Tableau. - Understand the data / reporting needs of multiple stakeholders and deliver data which meets their requirements. - Have the creative ability and knowledge to generate ideas and implement market leading data processing. - Proven project management skills; good personal organisation skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines. - Experience of how the insurance industry operates: form a business performance perspective, a data perspective and the terminology associated with this sector. - Proven experience of working with non-data personnel across business functions; able to facilitate understanding and awareness of MI and data requirements. - Previous experience of introducing new Data/MI tools into a business or function. - Ability to analyse the causes of data issues and advise the team on solutions to address data issues and manage internal stakeholders.
