Application Support Engineer Crewe £40,000 ShortList Recruitment are looking for an Application Support Engineer to join an established multi-national company based in Crewe. The Application Support Engineer will be responsible for providing second line support for the company's application within test and production environments, adhering to SLA's. The Application Support Engineer role will be the escalation point for support requests and incidents. You will also provide assistance to other areas of the business under the direction of senior staff members. The responsibilities of the Application Support Engineer: - Diagnosis and support of the application - Diagnosis and troubleshooting of incidents from the application relating to customers SLA(s) - Provide incident repairs - Application support monitoring - Daily maintenance of the application - Code migration - Investigate, clarify and resolve issues relating to the application - Support customers directly to further analyse the circumstances relating to the problem - Analyse and respond to customer service requests including: - Providing assessments of requests and determining whether the request will result in either defect-resolution or a change request - Proposing appropriate solutions - Excellent team work skills: - Support other team members - Attend and participate in team meetings - Attend necessary internal/client meetings to build good working relationships Necessary skills for you to be considered for the Application Support Engineer are: - Commercial experience with SQL and MS Office tools - Control M / Batch processing experience - sFTP - Application troubleshooting - ITIL (qualification, or awareness as a minimum) - JIRA - any experience with Service Now in addition to the above would make you stand out. The successful Application Support Engineer will have a customer focused approach, with the ability to anticipate risks and issues and take positive action to minimise the impact. Strong organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise and delegate and work to tight deadlines are key attributes for the Application Support Engineer. The salary for the Application Support Engineer is up to £40,000 for the right person, with good benefits. The Application Support Manager role is based in Crewe, and is commutable from Stoke-on-Trent, Shrewsbury, Chester, Warrington, Northwich, Macclesfield and Manchester.
