This 1:1 support role is ideal for a graduate who is keen to build upon their existing SEN experience within a school based setting, whilst being paid and supported for the full academic year! This forward thinking, inclusive primary school is looking to interview in September for a graduate to with a real passion for SEN to work as a 1:1 teaching assistant within the school's SEN team! Don't worry of you haven't worked in a school setting before, the important thing is that you are passionate about supporting children overcome barriers to learning. We are looking for a Psychology graduate who ideally has aspirations of becoming an Educational Psychologist or Teacher. In this role you will be supporting a child who has ASD. He is a happy and lively child who needs 1:1 support and encouragement. There are some communication difficulties which will involve activities such as social stories, PECS and Makaton. Do not worry if you haven't used these strategies before as you will be fully trained by the experienced SENCo. This school is used to supporting graduates in their first school based role, so will be given some training before you arrive and the school will provide further training as and when required. The school is a successful one with good leadership and Ofsted have commented how the behaviour at the school is good.
