The installations team are expanding and we are looking for a Field Installation Engineer (Telematics Installations) to work remotely around Peterborough, reporting to the Delivery Technical Installation Team based in Nottingham.

Duties and responsibilities

Visiting customer sites to undertake installation of Microlise equipment into customer vehicles Completing survey visits, sourcing potential solutions, providing documentation and photographs back for full write-upTo provide remote support to junior members of the team and also secondary support to contractors. Support to other technical engineer roles may be requested to cover periods of absence and/ or for personal development (survey specialist/ Lead engineer) etc.Completing QA visits on installations completed by others when requestedEnsure items are installed within 2 weeks of receiving PO and fleet information.To manage your own stock and ensure it is replenishedEssential Criteria:

Proven track record in vehicle installations and/or Telematics industry.Good communication skills, with ability to adjust style to relevant audiences.Understanding of vehicle wiring diagrams and ability to interpret theseExperience of in-cab installations of electronic equipment. Knowledge of Tracking and Telematics Solutions is a distinct advantage as is an understanding of logistics, fleet and distribution industries.Flexible and willing to take on new challenges in an ever changing environment. A strong drive to succeed and achieve their best in every task they undertake and who takes pride in what they do ensuring the quality and accuracy.Common sense approach to problem solving and a desire to learn and build on knowledge and skill set.Good organisational skillsExcellent time keeping with ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.Full UK Driving License is a mandatory requirement.Strong customer service skills and professional approach.Available to work a 7 day working pattern and flexibility with hours of work.Available and able to travel national and internationally as requiredHighly Desirable:

Full site experience and Health and Safety Working Practices. Qualification such as HSS or CSCS.Auto-electrical qualificationExperience of vehicle Can Bus systemsExperience in both HGV and LCV vehicles. LGV/ HGV license an advantage.Knowledge on VOSA/ DVSA guidelines and regulations.Why Microlise?
