Band 5 Occupational Therapist Salary: Starting salary £27,150 negotiable depending on experience Location: Barnet, Hertfordshire (North London Border) Hours: Full Time (Negotiable) / Sessional work would be considered. We are a hospital service with 30 in-patient beds designated restricted access or locked rehabilitation. Vision MH Ltd. provides on-going treatment to adult patients who suffer from a range of severe and enduring mental illnesses and in particular Schizophrenia, Psychosis, and Personality Disorders. We are looking for a newly qualified band 5 (or an experienced band 5 wishing to specialise in the area) Occupational Therapist to develop therapeutic skills in working with patients affected by mental health difficulties to join our team. The successful candidate will plan, implement and evaluate individual and group treatment sessions and will have knowledge of standardized assessments used in this setting. He/she will also have experience in writing and evaluating Occupational Therapy plans and will carry a caseload of patients with complex needs with support from senior staff members. They will join a small team of OT's consisting of a specialist OT and OTAs. We are looking for someone with a high level of emotional intelligence and with excellent communication and team working skills who is looking for an exciting opportunity to develop their experience further. The following are essential requirements: - Must have a BSc or equivalent in Occupational Therapy - Must have a Current HCPC Registration Desirable requirements: - Experience of working in mental health settings - Experience in both individual OT work and in delivering OT groups - Knowledge of risk assessment and risk management. This is not essential as support will be provided by a senior OT.
