Summary of Marketing Data and Insights Analyst As our Marketing Data & Insight Analyst, your role is central to delivering relevant and robust insight and analysis in support the client's growth strategy, including supporting sales pipeline identification & growth, influencing marketing campaign targets by providing expertise on customer segmentation and identifying emergent strategic issues. You will be responsible for delivering ad-hoc analyses on several subjects supporting a wide range of business functions including marketing, sales team and lead generation. This is a new role and there will be opportunity to develop and shape its direction. You will support the teams in creating an environment across Marketing and Sales where people are energised, engaged and enabled to drive a successful lead generation pipeline and effective Account Management through improved data analysis. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to inform decision making at a high level and really drive through changes to Marketing & Sales strategy. You will be both the fuel for the Marketing & Sales teams and the guardian of our data repository. Key Responsibilities for Marketing Data and Insights Analyst Reporting Develop and produce analysis supporting the the clients sales team, including client prospecting, cross and up-selling support Deliver segmentation analyses for the business (marketing and sales teams in the main) Produce analysis of marketing data to support projects, campaigns and ad hoc requirements Clean and upload data from internal and external sources, ensure data is up to date, compiled and stored regularly and efficiently into, including from external agencies as necessary Regular amending and appending Salesforce data as necessary - maintain logs for work requested and completed, and deliver analysis to track the effectiveness of activity Support the Marketing Manager in data element of ongoing MarComs campaigns, liaising with outside agencies as necessary Develop and deliver reports to communicate business KPI's, trends, relationships, drivers, opportunities and risk Track and analyse sales and marketing activity through data generated through, providing insight into Marketing Manager Determine, suggest and implement efficient data working practices - automation, templates etc Effectively communicate results & insights to other key executives & stakeholders. Analysis and Insight Evolve our capabilities (from effective CRM data capture to reporting to insight to action) Prepare effective customer analytics (targeting and selection) to input into marketing campaigns Proactively provide advice and guidance on approaches to segmentation, offer strategies, test and learn opportunities, data capture and ability to report return on investment Implement the right tools & architecture to extract the relevant campaign data for marketing decision-making and selling opportunities Teamwork Be responsible for creating the right environment to ensure everybody's involvement Help non-technical people understand how to use the systems and ensure they are used properly The above list is not exhaustive, due to business needs individuals may be required to carry out additional duties. To ensure maximum efficiencies within the operation, flexibility is essential. Individuals will be required to assist in other areas. Person Specification for the Marketing Data and Insights Analyst Degree level or Equivalent in appropriate subject area Working knowledge of Data Protection Act and GDPR Practical experience of Salesforce. Salesforce certification a bonus. Logistics or retail background 5+ years proven experience practicing advanced analytics and data manipulation experience practicing advanced analytics and data manipulation Full understanding of defining, extracting, creating and analyzing data Knowledge of marketing techniques and concepts Knowledge of data modelling, data cleaning and data governance Appreciation of data best practices Advanced Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, graphics) and PowerPoint skills Strong data and analytical skills and track record of delivery Strategic understanding - ability to connect data, analytics and strategic thinking Ability to present complex information clearly and professionally to a variety of audiences, including creation of presentation materials for seniors to deliver, production of reports and face to face meetings Ability to work cross-functionally - to contribute to workgroups, and to develop action plans and strategies from data and insight Comfortable working autonomously Highly organised professional who pays strong attention to detail in their daily tasks Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment - working with a vast array of information and coping with rapidly changing information Able to respond well to pressure Ability to work flexibly, self-motivated to prioritise and respond to commissions to tight timescales Good communicator with strong interpersonal skills, and able to relate at all levels Coaching and support for fellow team members, ability to create strong peer networks Willingness to learn Able to bring to the table new ideas and fresh approaches Confident and resilient to manage impact of legacy systems
