*Application Support Analyst - £35 - 45,000 per annum - Bristol (can be based in Portsmouth)*

The successful candidate must be eligible for full UK SC Clearance - existing clearance beneficial.

General Job Description:
*Support the management and delivery of In-house applications and configuration of the relevant installations to ensure continuous service
*Team leader of the software and interface team
*Development skills to ensure constant delivery and support of high quality services
*Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for In-house applications. Resolution of issues to a permanent fix
*You will be a subject matter expert in SQL server development and presentation layer software, Biztalk ESB software. Working with the Head of IT Solutions Delivery and greater team to ensure all applications are fit for purpose and deliver business value.
*Implementation of minor changes and new interfaces and be a Technical lead for projects that effect the in-house applications and ESB software
*Ability to understand and support third party applications to ensure service
*Assist with the active monitoring of the costs charged to the IT Solutions Delivery team budget or appropriate project / minor works budget
*Ensure delivery of and deliver good customer service through delivery of consistent, well documented changes and issue resolutions

Key tasks and deliverables:
*Ensure all 2nd and 3rd line support issues are delivered to agreed SLAs following ITIL processes. All issues are completed with a suitable resolution
*Ensure the controlled configuration of In-house applications
*Implementation and control of Biztalk ESB interfaces and integration required by the DSG BU
*Allocate projects and Minor new works to the team.
*Supervise the team within agreed management objectives
*Ensure any configurations and development work is completed and tested within agreed timescales and delivered to development standards
*Acceptance of migrated applications into the corporate technical environment. Document application details both Business and technical and implement into the agreed support processes
*Help to identify new ways to exploit functionality in applications in accordance with the application roadmap
*Ensure any changes are agreed with the stakeholder community and align with the IT strategy
*Support the IT Solutions Delivery team in a consistent approach to supplier and client relationship management, identifying issues and improvements where necessary
*Provide consistent application and systems documentation through all of the application lifecycle, using an agreed application templates
*Help to identify and implement measures to actively improve the process documentation, delivering a consistent approach for the application team and the business
*Help to identify and suggest existing or new emerging standards and best development practice for the applications team
*Ensure any costs incurred are for an agreed project or existing budgeted SLA
*Deliver projects and minor works where you are the project lead, ensuring you manage your resources to deliver to agreed timescales the activity for projects, programmes and contract mobilisations

Essential skills and experience:
*Experience of ASP.Net, Classic ASP, PHP, Java, SQL Server, Microsoft IIS, Excel VBA, Microsoft Access
*Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server administration
*Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Biztalk and other ESB's
*Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite
*Experience of supervisor Software analysts and allocating work
*Good understanding of web technologies and business process engineering
*Experience of Development of new applications and new routines to existing systems
*Proven experience working in a small team delivering technical resolutions and solutions to business requirements
*Experience of working with through problems and issues to meet agreed SLAs
*Managing the resolution of IT software application issues and problems through Remedy/Service Desk platforms
*Bachelor's Degree in an Information Systems Field or preferably 3 years plus experience delivering and/or supporting solutions
*ITIL Foundation
*Understanding of Software Development processes and Application life cycle
*Good working knowledge of office systems and procedures
