We are a Meat Processing company, who produce free range organic products. We are looking for a dual skilled maintenance engineer to join our evening shift. With an approximately 60/40 electrical bias, the successful candidate will work Monday to Thursday 6pm to 2.30am and Friday 6pm to midnight, or 10pm to 6am Monday to Friday. This is at our site near Haverhill. The main duties will include responding to equipment failures/breakdowns, undertaking preventive maintenance and general work orders, maintaining and updating records on the maintenance system as well as working on continuous improvement and other projects. Reporting to the Engineering Team Leaders and ultimately the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will join an experienced site wide team responsible for the maintenance of all production equipment such as slicers, tray lidders, scales, metal detectors, sausage fillers, wrappers and sauce making machinery as well as site services including compressed air, vacuums, water supply etc and building fabric repairs. An understanding of basic fault finding on PLCs including Mitsubishi, Siemens, Omron, Allen Brady would be of benefit but is not essential. Ideally you will have direct experience working with food processing and packaging equipment, however familiarisation training on this specialist equipment can be provided for the right candidate. Experience and Qualifications required The successful candidates must hold an electrical qualification of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent as a minimum. A 17th edition certification is desireable but not essential. You must be an excellent fault finder and have strong mechanical skills with a good working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and PLC's. You will be expected to accurately record all maintenance work using our computerised maintenance system so strong computer skills are a must. The role is crucial to the efficient running of the site and therefore you will be required to demonstrate excellent communication skills when liaising with internal departments and external contractors and have a flexible and proactive approach to ensure the overall needs of the business are met.
