A unique opportunity for a Linux Systems Administrator to join a leading global investment management company with a difference! As the Linux Systems Administrator you will be the 1st line support for the London team, reporting to the Senior Systems Engineer based locally you will also work closely with the IT team based in New York. Your role as the Linux Systems Administrator - You will handle general systems administration across an array of back-end platforms and take on a broad slice of the end user technology environment for the London office (such as desktops, telephony, mobile devices, video conferencing, AV), while expanding an ever-growing set of back-end systems such as networks, storage, virtual and physical servers. - Participate in new technology selection, testing and rollout as well as own build, configuration, problem solving, troubleshooting, maintenance and support across end-user technologies. - You will be the bridge between technology and the people by ensuring a seamless, responsive and proactive user experience. Your profile will look something like this - You will have a degree in computer science or a similar technical field coupled with at least 6 months relevant experience as a Linux Systems Administrator and basic Windows knowledge would be great. - Rudimentary knowledge of basic networking principles (DHCP / DNS) and hardware familiarity (GPU / CPU / RAM) and programming skills beyond simple scripting is a plus. - Good problem solving and critical thinking skills, able to adeptly assess and fix technical problems and be passionate about technology with a strong desire to learn. - Excellent interpersonal and communications and comfortable with supporting end users to a high standard.
