My client based in South East London is looking for a Field Support Technician who is a qualified plumber, the role is primarily based at sites in and around the London area, but there will be some requirement for travel throughout the UK and a company van, tools and PPE will be provided. Role Reporting to the Delivery Manager, your role will be to support the installation, maintenance and effective operation of my client's equipment deployed within client's business and customers' homes. Following documented workflows & processes and working with key supply partners, the Field Support Technician will carry out installation & commissioning, fault detection & remedy and maintenance of heat metering equipment supplied by my client to the domestic heating sector. Much of this role includes working in the built environment on multi- million pound construction schemes and in people's homes and as such is a support function to our Delivery Team and Client Services; the role is a vitally important aspect to my client delivering ambitious equipment sales growth. Specific Responsibilities: Installation and commissioning prepayment & controlled credit systems: To conduct site survey's to assist the Delivery Team with the installation of new systems. Commissioning & testing my client's prepayment and controlled credit systems during the various phases of their developments. Liaise with & report to site staff (clients, principle contractors, consultants & heating / plumbing sub- contractors) representing the company whilst at development sites. To support on-going Customer Services: Provide reactive maintenance; including equipment installed in people's homes, or commissioned within a scheme but not yet handed over to clients / residents. Carry out post-installation upgrade / maintenance programmes on my client's equipment installed in residential properties, plant rooms and communal areas. Following set processes to establish possible equipment / installation faults and their respective remedies; this will include diagnosis over the telephone, checking the head end server (HES), on-site attendance & liaison with suppliers. Interact with clients & customers on site at developments, representing my client in sometimes difficult situations where clients & residents may be unhappy to be without utilities due to faults. Maintain personal equipment & stock of spares / consumables to a level ensuring continuity of service. To support Legacy systems: Install and support point-of-sale (POS) equipment in convenience stores local to each scheme (POS agents). Provide training, on-going technical support and maintenance to POS agent staff operating my client's own POS systems. Create customer smart cards for my client's prepay systems utilising the MMS database. Automatic Metering Reading (AMR) Systems: Support role to your IT Team; including installing, commissioning and maintaining dataloggers, Gateways, repeaters, routers, IP Power Down Plugs, etc. To offer a support role with problem solving and fault finding AMR systems, including heat meters, MBUS networks, ZigBee wireless RF networks, etc. General: Document, report and complete field visit reports and issue logs. Support the Delivery & Customer Service teams through providing technical advice / feedback & liaison with supplier technical teams. Maintain accurate time-log records for provision to the finance team responsible for client billing and project time management. Adhere to client site safety regulations & requirements whilst on any site, including keeping an eye on your sub- contractors wherever possible. Ensure all stock and tools are booked out before taking to site, in line with correct procedures and processes. Represent my client and their customers in a professional manner in accordance with company standards and procedures. Respond to ad-hoc tasks & requirements as instructed by management when required. Supervise junior members of Field Support Team (FST), their work standards and performance as the business grows. Qualifications needed NVQ Level 3 Plumbing qualification and at least 3 years' experience essential Electrical qualification and experience a distinct advantage, Fault finding skills and the ability to work independently and within a team Required experience needed in plumbing must be 2 years and district heating of 1 year Full UK Drivers Licence Package Start ASAP Duration Permanent with a 6 month probation period Salary £26,000 - £32,000 per annum depending upon skills and experience Hours 40 hours a week Annual Leave 20 days plus the 8 days Bank Holidays Benefits Stakeholder pension Reed Specialist Recruitment is an Employment Agency and an Employment Business for permanent and temporary recruitment.
