Key Responsibilities: - To assist with the running of IT services across the whole campus as directed by the IT services manager - To carry out first lime maintenance on PC based computer hardware and peripheral equipment - To carry out software upgrades, installation and maintenance - To assist with performing routine server operations such as user account maintenance and backup - To liaise with third party contractors where appropriate for the repair/replacement of faculty equipment - To take specific responsibility for certain routine procedures as agreed with the line manager - To operate the helpdesk as part of the support team - To follow procedures for recording, reporting, maintain IT related information and records - To take responsibility for AV (audio/Visual) equipment and the production of digital AV content for reaching staff - To assist in the maintenance of school websites and intranet content - To provide a supervisory presence in the IT centre when the need arises - To provide operational support for pupils, teachers and administrative staff in the use of software - To undertake work as reasonably directed by senior colleagues in the department Required Skills: - Knowledge and experience of Linux platform, Squid, Apache, would be advantage - Knowledge and experience of ISAMs educational management software would be advantageous - Knowledge and experience of MEAN stack web authoring would be advantageous - Knowledge and experience of Firewall configuration would be advantageous - Excellent inter-personal skills - a people person. - Committed team player and ability to work on own initiative. - Excellent communication skills - written and, especially, verbal - both over phone and in person. - Time management - ability to prioritise and multi-task. Additional Information: Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week Future Prospects: Potential to progress to a Higher Apprenticeship.
