Technical Architect - Applications - Software - NHS - Open Source - TOGAF 9 Technical Architect - Applications - Software - NHS - Open Source - TOGAF 9 My Central Government client is seeking a Technical Architect to work on a Digital Transformation project. Health care Records are increasingly becoming digitised. As patients move around the health care ecosystem, their electronic health records must be available, discoverable, and understandable. Further, to support automated clinical decision support and other machine-based processing, the data must also be structured and standardised. Qualifications: - Degree or higher in Computer Science's or 5+ years experience in architectural design and development of large systems - Certified in one or more architectural frameworks (e.g. TOGAF) or equivalent demonstrable experience and understanding - Knowledge & Skills: Any of the following skills will be considered valuable: - Experience of working with registries, directories, or reference data services - preferably in the health domain. - Experience of loosely-coupled system integration / interoperability between different third-party systems. - Software architectural design and system implementation experience in one or more health domains (e.g. urgent & emergency care, unscheduled care, primary care). - High level technical understanding of NHS Digital IT systems, those offered by third party suppliers, and the current systems interoperate landscape within the NHS. - Experience of working with health interoperability standards e.g. HL7, IHE, NHS National Systems - Ability to communicate complex architectural concepts to stakeholders with different focuses (e.g. business / technical / security / clinical) - Demonstrable experience of working closely with business stakeholders and third party suppliers to understand requirements and collectively deliver the best technical solution in terms of cost, performance, resilience, design approach and alignment with standards. - Experienced in the delivery of complex IT solutions through the full life cycle from initial inception to production. - Good understanding of messaging protocols and interoperability standards, in particular those with relevance to the health domain. - Broad understanding of current and emerging technologies and how they can be harnessed to meet the programmes business requirements. - Evidence of recent software delivery against a complex set of requirements and / or in a complex environment - A clear understanding and appreciation for benefits / dis-benefits of working publicly and openly, and taking an open source approach Preferable skills / experience: - Previous architectural and development experience in IT health domain - preferably focused on registries, data directories / reference data services, and open publishing of data via APIs / datasets etc.. - Excellent communication with a wide range of business and clinical stakeholders, technical domain experts, and end-users. - Broad range of experience in technical solution design and delivery, and evidence of previous successful project delivery. - Ability to work at and move between different levels of detail dependent on the needs of the teams, programme, and business. - Broad spectrum understanding of current and emerging technologies and their capabilities, and a demonstrably pragmatic approach to balancing innovation, sustainability, and design.
