Demob Job Reference: j3201 Job Title: Electronics Assembly & Test Engineer Location: Carlisle, Cumbria Salary: £20,000 - £26,000 DOE Introduction: Our client is a leading solutions provider in the field of Communications. They are now recruiting for an Electronics Assembly & Test Engineer at their site in Carlisle, Cumbria. The successful candidate will report to the Production Manager and will carry out unit assembly and test and also full systems assembly and fault finding. Although not essential, this may be well suited to candidates coming from an (ex-military) background i.e. Royal Navy, Army or Royal Air Force (RAF), especially those with an Electronics background with the ability to fault find at component level and test equipment. Responsibilities: - Manufacture and test printed circuit board assemblies prior to them being installed into units. - Manually insert through-hole components including resisters and capacitors using soldering techniques. - Configure units into full systems and carry out testing. - Produce and update test specifications. - Fault find to component level. - Assist in the technical input to the existing software, hardware and sales team as well as producing technical documentation. - Stock management and control. - Complete job progress reports. - Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with company Health & Safety regulations. - Take a positive and proactive approach to the promotion of all aspects of the company. Applicant Requirements: Essential: - Hold a relevant Electronics Engineering qualification. - Knowledge of surface mount assembly techniques. - Able to demonstrate a high degree of competence in the technical areas of test and repair to component level. - Knowledge and understanding of analogue and digital circuits. - Demonstrable technical computing skills. - Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills. - Team player. - Highly motivated. - Self-motivated and able to use own initiative. Desirable: - Knowledge of analogue and digital radio communications systems and techniques would be an advantage but is not essential. - Knowledge of radio communications, knowledge of telephone communications, understanding of VOIP, knowledge of IP communications.
