A Hydraulics Systems and Installation Senior Design Engineer opportunity has become available for one of the world's leading manufacturers of off-highway machinery and diesel and natural gas engines. The Hydraulics Systems and Installation Senior Design Engineer is a permanent position based in Peterlee, County Durham. The role offers a salary of £37,761 - £53,979 depending on experience with a variety of benefits that include: 25 days annual leave + bank holidays, 12% Bonus, Share Scheme and other benefits. The successful Design Engineer will join a team responsible for full design and development of Articulated Trucks, leveraging technical support from key component, system partners, test facilities and computer simulation techniques in UK North America and India. The Peterlee team utilises the latest design systems and techniques including 3D virtual vitalisation, R & D and Production Validation centres. On site manufacturing enables close, real-time collaboration with Cross Functional teams for Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality and Logistics. As a Senior Design Engineer (Hydraulics Systems and Installation), you will have the opportunity to direct and contribute to the concept, development, and design of complex Articulated Truck electrical components, subsystems, or processes while strengthening your analytical skills and mastery of engineering concepts. To apply for this Hydraulics Systems and Installation Senior Design Engineer position you should have some of the following: - A Degree or HND/HNC within an Engineering discipline or relevant experience. Hydraulic design bias preferred. - Experience of designing (3D CAD) and integrating hydraulic systems and components (preferably Creo/ProE). - Produced and maintained component, system schematic drawings and models, Bill of Materials and technical specifications. - A general understanding of manufacturing methodologies and project management, ability to present design status. - Worked with multi-functional teams in: development, process and validation techniques, including suppliers; customers, global component and system development teams. - Utilised design aspects of APQP to manage risk and meet: challenging cost, weight and delivery timelines whilst maintaining reliability and durability. - FMEA, validation planning, integration and PPAP experience. - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. - Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to lead teams.
