Engineering Manager - Slovakia £450 per day plus expenses Company Profile: A leading automotive company, established are looking for an Engineering Manager to join the business. Job Profile: Due to continued global expansion our client is constructing a greenfield site automotive production facility in Slovakia and requires an experienced Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Manager to oversee the £300m project over a 2-year period. As part of the UK Built Asset delivery team, based in Slovakia, you will ensure the successful delivery of the manufacturing construction and engineering systems within the programme of works. You will have the drive, ambition and capability to lead and manage a team of consultants, suppliers and engineers to deliver multiple engineering and construction programme solutions. Leading on infrastructure /energy center projects you will ensure the team have the capability to deliver technical engineering and programme management services across the full spectrum of the build programme, supporting technology functions, with the focus to deliver a World Class facility. Understanding the design and ensuring that it is practical and buildable will be second nature to you. You will check the design off against the business specification and ensure that proposed systems have the correct capacity to support full production. Key responsibilities include: - Being part of a ''High Performing Team'' that is founded on a ''Safety First'' leadership approach and collaborative working to deliver the highest possible service for its stakeholders. - To develop a capability to deliver technical engineering and programme management services across the full spectrum of the build Programme, supporting technology functions, with the focus to deliver a World Class facility. - The ability to Lead and manage a team of consultants, Suppliers and engineers to deliver multiple engineering and construction programme solutions. - Collaborative working with both the UK and International Manufacturing Construction Facilities to develop an integrated engineering systems approach across the Programme. - The production of outline project plans and budgets for incorporation into the overall business plan proposal to allow submission/presentation to the various governance bodies. - Making sure that the design brief defines the right engineering system performance which is aligned to operational requirements. - Ensuring design solutions encourage strategic development of systems and infrastructure. - Support the appointment of the right designers and suppliers. - Supporting the project teams to ensure that what the Construction suppliers provide meets business requirements. - Reviewing the design and key areas of the build to ensure it meets the brief and the standards and is not over engineered. - Monitoring the external environment to identify ways to improve the way we engineer our buildings and systems. - Support procurement's drive for best value. - Managing concessions from Engineering technical standards for all project design solutions. - The development of project specific delivery plans across all phases of the build programme. - To lead the Engineering team in the successful delivery of all projects - Zero Harm, to/under budget, on programme, in line with the contract specification and clients' requirements. - Development and timely issue of status reports. - Lead the Engineering function creating Lesson Learnt reports. Demonstrable experience of working with the following is required - 1. BMS - Building Management Systems - 2. CCTV systems - 3. High /Medium /Low Voltage distribution systems - 4. District Heating Systems - 5. Cooling Water Systems - 6. Compressed Air systems - 7. Water Treatment Plants - 8. Substation Design & Installation 110/22kV - 9. Access Control Systems Candidate Profile: - Minimum safety qualifications - CSCS card or Safety Management training. - Degree educated in a Mechanical / Electrical Engineering related discipline - minimum HNC / HND equivalent. - Institutional membership is beneficial. - Technical experience in construction 'build' and Mechanical and Electrical engineering projects. - Proven track record in delivering construction and Mechanical and Electrical engineering projects. - An M&E Services commissioning background would be a significant advantage. - Experience of the construction of Automotive Manufacturing facilities will also be beneficial. - Experience working on Infrastructure / civil engineering schemes would also be considered.
