Employer Description At Oakam, our mission is to create a better future for the financially excluded who are often newcomers to the UK and who have not yet been able to build a credit history. Since our launch in 2007, we have helped close to 700,000 customers and have granted some 500 million small loans. We have provided almost a quarter of a million people moving to the UK for work with access to credit, helping them to establish homes and start their new lives. We have also welcomed 125,000 single parents back into the credit market. As a lead disruptor of alternative lending, we focus on the application of alternative data and great user experience to deliver significantly improved value to consumers. Underpinning these advantages is a full Financial Conduct Authority license and a strong compliance culture across Oakam. We are continuing our transition from a successful analog business to digital in order to achieve our growth plans in the UK and overseas. Our digital strategy leverages recent developments in technology (UX, big data, gamification) as a way to best reproduce the customer-centric service that we have successfully offered offline. We are moving fast, and have won several awards in 2016 recognizing our work and reflecting the rapid adoption of our digital products by customers (FSTech Best Digital Launch of the Year; Credit Today Best Alternative Lender).
